Jeremiah 30:17 (NLT):

I will give you back your health and heal your wounds, says the Lord.

Galatians 6:17 (ESV):

From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

I recently posted a video about what God has been teaching me through the physical scars on my body. In a candid and vulnerable moment, I felt compelled to share a personal reflection on the profound impact my scars have on me—both literal and emotional. Join me on this journey as we explore the healing power of acknowledging our pain, seeking inner healing through prayer, and discovering the transformative freedom in Christ.

The Power of Acknowledging Scars:

Have you ever taken a moment to ponder the significance of your scars, not just the physical ones but the emotional wounds they represent? In a recent introspective moment, I found myself contemplating the scars on my abdomen and arm, remnants of surgeries and life's challenges. These scars carry more than physical pain—they bear the weight of emotional turmoil, consequences, and the resilience it took to endure.

Suppressing The Emotions Behind Our Scars:

From a young age, many of us are conditioned to suppress our emotions, to endure silently, and to carry the weight of our experiences without acknowledgment. The societal expectation to "suck it up" often leads us to disassociate from our feelings, pushing them deep within ourselves. However, as time passes, it becomes clear that what we don't deal with can profoundly affect our nervous system, leading to various health issues.

Inner Healing: A Path to Emotional Restoration:

This is where the transformative power of Inner Healing comes into play. Recognizing the importance of addressing emotional wounds, Inner Healing encourages individuals to confront and process their feelings before God, offering a pathway to emotional and spiritual restoration in His presence. It emphasizes the significance of fearlessly acknowledging our deep pain and turmoil, seeking solace in Jesus through his revelation or “treasure” that he reveals to us when we seek Him in the midst of our pain, and finding healing through Spirit-Empowered prayer.

Healing Comes When We Talk with God:

Suppressing emotions from your past hurts and trauma will not bring you freedom. In fact, recent science shows that unprocessed hurts, pain, trauma, and unmet expectations can be physically in our bodies and can affect not only our mental and emotional wellbeing, but also our physical wellbeing.

Engaging in a sincere dialogue with God about our hurts, pains, and unprocessed feelings can not only bring healing to your heart and mind, but can actually help you physically feel better as well. By granting ourselves permission to feel and think honestly about our hurts and past, we open the door to God's perspective, inviting Him to touch our hearts, heal our brokenness, and bring peace to our wounded souls.

Remember, your scars don’t have to remind you of the shame of your past. They can instead be reminders of how much God loves you and how much freedom and healing he has brought to your life. You have permission to feel, to think, and to seek healing in Christ. May this journey bring you peace and a deeper connection with the healing love of Christ.

Be Blessed, friends.
